Regular Season Round 7: Luis ML - Sergio Ceppi 36-60
Date: October 28, 2021
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#3) and Luis ML (#6). Luis ML was crushed at home by 24 points 36-60 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Sergio Ceppi held Luis ML to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 30.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Sergio Ceppi forced 28 Luis ML turnovers and outrebounded them 50-33 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican Jazmin Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Veronica Mery (-93) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Leslie Santibanez answered with 8 points and 8 rebounds and Dominique Del Canto added 8 points in the effort for Luis ML. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sergio Ceppi (4-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with UNAB Santiago and Univ.de Chile. Luis ML at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Sergio Ceppi is looking forward to face Vina del Mar (#5) at home in the next round. Luis ML's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Univ.de Chile.
