Regular Season Round 7: CAO Ceres - Echague 87-85

Rather predictable result when first ranked CAO Ceres (4-1) edged at home 4th placed Echague (0-7) 87-85 on Saturday. They outrebounded Echague 38-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. CAO Ceres looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for swingman Matias Martinez (195-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Jorge Banegas (190-93, agency: BIG) helped adding 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Matias Stival (184-94) responded with 23 points and 4 assists and forward Rodrigo Riquelme (192-92) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Four Echague players scored in double figures. CAO Ceres maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with San Isidro and Estudiantes T. Loser Echague still closes the standings with seven games lost. CAO Ceres will meet league's leader San Isidro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Echague will have a break next round.
