Regular Season Round 7: San Miguel - FAS 52-110

An interesting game for FAS (10-0) which played road game in San Miguel against 4th placed San Miguel (2-8). Leader FAS had an easy win 110-52. FAS dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to San Miguel's 38 and had 21 for 30 from the free-throw line, while San Miguel only scored five points from the stripe. FAS forced 29 San Miguel turnovers and outrebounded them 48-24 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by San Miguel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds. Naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-93, college: NDN) contributed with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five FAS players scored in double figures. Guard Melany Sanchez (167-4) answered with 22 points and point guard Zabdi Rivera (170-2) added 11 points in the effort for San Miguel. San Miguel's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. FAS have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. San Miguel at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. FAS are looking forward to face L.M.Mons. 2 (#3) in Santa Ana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Miguel will play against Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
