Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Ameghino and 5th ranked Jachal had identical 1-4 record. But Jachal was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Villa Maria 86-71 on Saturday night. Ameghino dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Jachal's 32. It was a great evening for power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Abel Aristimuno (195-91, agency: BIG) helped adding 7 points and 9 assists. At the losing side forward Santiago Ibarra (198-98) responded with 18 points and Marco Bosh scored 12 points. Four Jachal players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ameghino maintains second place with 2-4 record having just two points less than leader Racing, which they share with 4 other teams. Jachal lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ameghino will meet at home Rivadavia (#4) in the next round. Jachal will play against the league's leader Independ.O. in Olivia and hope to win that game.
