There was a small surprise when third ranked Villa S.Martin (3-3) won against their close opponent Libertad (2-3) in Sunchales 76-67 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The winners were led by guard Sebastian Mignani (185-90) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 assists and Bruno Galassi supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international swingman Julian Eydallin (195-0) did not help to save the game for Libertad. Power forward Estefano Simondi (201-96) added 16 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Villa S.Martin have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Libertad keeps the third place with three games lost. Villa S.Martin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
