CUP top team - Puerto Varas (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Castro (0-2) 83-59. Puerto Varas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international point guard Tomas Alvarez (185-89) who scored that evening 20 points and the former international center Juan Fontena (196-87) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by Daniel Arcos (190-94) did not help to save the game for Castro. Venezuelan Luis Merida (190-92) added 12 points and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Puerto Varas have a solid three-game winning streak.
