There was no surprise in Mar del Plata where Penarol was defeated by Obera 96-79 on Tuesday. Obera outrebounded Penarol 47-29 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Santiago Konaszuk (188-99) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and swingman Hans Ponce (192-99) chipped in 20 points. Five Obera players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Lucas Gorosterrazu (197-98, agency: BIG) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and center Nicolas Franco (204-99) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Penarol's coach let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Obera will meet at home Quimsa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Penarol will play against Instituto in Cordoba and hope to win that game.
