Very significant was Santa Tecla's (#2, 8-3) victory against one of their biggest challengers L.M.Mons. 2 (5-6) 69-48. Santa Tecla held L.M.Mons. 2 to an opponent 16.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Santa Tecla had a 40-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican guard Genesis Evangelista (180-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Liliana Alvarado (172-97) who added 8 points and 19 rebounds during the contest. Colombian center Diana Lopez (179-85, college: Regis Univ.) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 20 rebounds and 5 blocks and Monica Aristondo (163-92) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santa Tecla have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-3 record having just three points less than leader FAS. L.M.Mons. 2 at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Santa Tecla are looking forward to face league's leader FAS in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. L.M.Mons. 2 will play against Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
