Very significant was FAS's (#1, 11-0) victory against 3rd ranked L.M.Mons. 2 (5-6) 81-64. FAS forced 22 L.M.Mons. 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 50-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Silvia Vega (176-3) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds and naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-93, college: NDN) supported her with 29 points and 5 rebounds. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four FAS players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 5 rebounds by Monica Aristondo (163-92) did not help to save the game for L.M.Mons. 2. Colombian center Diana Lopez (179-85, college: Regis Univ.) added 6 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. FAS (11-0) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. L.M.Mons. 2 at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. FAS will play against bottom-ranked Santa Ana (#5) in the next round. L.M.Mons. 2 will play against Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
