Bottom-ranked Catamarca is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to eighth ranked Los Indios (2-4) 77-42 on Sunday evening. Los Indios held Catamarca to an opponent 19.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Los Indios forced 30 Catamarca turnovers and outrebounded them 51-36 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Micaela Gonzalez (167-96) notched 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Jacqueline Soto supported her with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Candela Ruffino (184-94) did not help to save the game for Catamarca. Rocio Lezcano added 7 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Los Indios moved-up to sixth place. Loser Catamarca still closes the standings with four games lost. Los Indios will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Catamarca will play against Corrientes (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
