Regular Season Round 11: Echague - CAO Ceres 58-85

Rather predictable result when first ranked CAO Ceres (6-2) rolled over 4th placed Echague (0-10) in Parana 85-58 on Wednesday. CAO Ceres dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Echague's 34. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Matias Martinez (195-94) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Joaquin Baeza (182-86, agency: BIG) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four CAO Ceres players scored in double figures. Power forward Lisandro Caraballo came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Geronimo Rosso (187-0, agency: BIG) added 13 points respectively for Echague in the defeat. Echague's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. CAO Ceres maintains first place with 6-2 record. Loser Echague still closes the standings with ten games lost. CAO Ceres will meet Libertad (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Echague will play against the league's second-placed Independiente and hopes to get finally their first victory.
