The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Independiente's (5-3) road victory over 3rd placed Libertad (3-4) in Sunchales 84-75 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Jeremias Sandrini (185-93, agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Gabriel Mendes accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Independiente players scored in double figures. Power forward Estefano Simondi (201-96) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Julian Eydallin (195-0) added 7 points and 5 assists respectively for Libertad in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Independiente maintains second place with 5-3 record behind leader Racing, which they share with Colon SF. Loser Libertad keeps the third position with four games lost. Independiente will meet Echague (#4) in the next round. Libertad will play against the league's leader CAO Ceres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
