Regular Season Round 3: Riachuelo LR - Penarol 82-78

There was no surprise when Penarol (1-3) lost to Riachuelo LR (3-1) in La Rioja 78-82 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Riachuelo LR dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Penarol's 34. It was an exceptional evening for forward Lucas Gallardo (199-1) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Lautaro Velasquez accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Riachuelo LR's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Lucas Gorosterrazu (197-98, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and center Nicolas Franco (204-99) added 17 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Penarol in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Riachuelo LR will meet at home Instituto (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Penarol will play against H.Americano (#19) and hope to win that game.
