Regular Season Round 4: Riachuelo LR - Penarol 80-75
Date: November 12, 2021
Everything went according to plan in La Rioja where eighth ranked Riachuelo LR (3-1) beat 14th ranked Penarol (1-3) 80-75 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Point guard Nicolas Paletta (179-87) fired 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international Eric Flor (190-93) chipped in 17 points. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: FSU, agency: BIG) produced 28 points and point guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-98) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Penarol's coach Leandro Ramella rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Riachuelo LR have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with San Lorenzo. Loser Penarol keeps the fourteenth position with three games lost. They share it with Obras and Comunicaciones. Riachuelo LR will meet at home higher ranked Instituto (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Penarol will play against H.Americano (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
