Regular Season Round 12: Colon SF - Villa S.Martin 82-88
Date: November 12, 2021
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Santa Fe where second-best Colon SF (5-5) was defeated by third ranked Villa S.Martin (5-5) 88-82 on Friday. Villa S.Martin dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Colon SF's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Treshaad Williams (196-93, college: Morehead St.) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Point guard Santiago Luduena (176-93) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Joaquin Rios (186) who recorded 25 points and forward Patricio Aranda (197-89) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Colon SF's coach Ricardo De Cecco rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Villa S.Martin moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Colon SF. Colon SF lost third consecutive game. Villa S.Martin will meet at home Libertad (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Colon SF will play against the league's second-placed Independiente in Santiago del Estero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
