Regular Season Round 15: Manquehue - Truenos 77-70

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Manquehue (9-2) beat 5th ranked Truenos (6-5) in Santiago 77-70 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Fernando Schuler (190-91) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Juan Peters (-93) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Venezuelan center Hebert Reyes (210, college: SFC) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and forward Nick Morales (187-85) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Truenos in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Manquehue. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having six points less than leader Sportiva Italiana. Loser Truenos dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Manquehue will meet at home Arabe de Valp. (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Truenos will play against Tinguiririca SF in San Fernando and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
