The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Boca Jrs as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Boca Jrs defeated 12th ranked Atenas in Buenos Aires 72-62. Boca Jrs dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Atenas' 24. The best player for the winners was Manuel Rodriguez (203-2) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Juan Contegrand chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Boca Jrs' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jonatan Basualdo (198-99) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and Ignacio Segura (195-0) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Boca Jrs (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Comunicaciones. Atenas at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Atenas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Boca Jrs will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Instituto in Cordoba.
