The game in Maturin supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Gladiadores (6-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Cangrejeros (1-5). Gladiadores did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-65 on Tuesday. Gladiadores outrebounded Cangrejeros 47-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Jesus Martinez (206-86) fired 9 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Guard Jholbeth Mendez (180-95) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Geovanny Marquez produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Carlos Gascon (178-90) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiadores have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Cangrejeros keep the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Centauros. Gladiadores' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena .
