Regular Season Round 12: Halcones - Forza 81-73

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Halcones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Halcones defeated 4th ranked Forza at home 81-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Forza. Halcones forced 20 Forza turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard David Monterroso (180-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-90) who added 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Halcones' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Luis Mendez with 34 points (!!!) and Walter Gasparico (-89) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Halcones (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Forza at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Forza will play next round against strong Amatitlan trying to get back on the winning streak. Halcones will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Villa Nueva on the road.
