Regular Season Round 12: Sergio Ceppi - Univ.de Chile 48-62

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Univ.de Chile (#2) and Sergio Ceppi (#3). Sergio Ceppi was defeated at home 48-62 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Univ.de Chile forced 21 Sergio Ceppi turnovers. Strangely Sergio Ceppi outrebounded Univ.de Chile 48-29 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Javiera Campos (-2) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Antonia Andaur (-2) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Pia Henriquez who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Veronica Mery (-93) added 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Sergio Ceppi's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Univ.de Chile maintains second position with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader Infinito. Sergio Ceppi at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Univ.de Chile will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sergio Ceppi will play at home against Vina del Mar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
