Regular Season Round 9: Guaiqueries - Broncos 59-52

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Guaiqueries as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Guaiqueries defeated 3rd placed Broncos in Porlamar 59-52. They outrebounded Broncos 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: NSU) who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. International center Luis Carrillo (206-93) chipped in 4 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Michael Rudas (179-94) who recorded 11 points and 8 assists and swingman Morris Sierralta (190-87) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaiqueries (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Broncos at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Taurinos. Broncos will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Guaiqueries will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Centauros in Margarita.
