There was a surprise result in Buenos Aires where eleventh ranked Obras (3-5) defeated higher ranked Union (7-6) 68-62 on Tuesday. Obras had a 41-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. Venezuelan power forward Fernando Fuenmayor (201-0) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Matias Von Schmeling (200-1) chipped in 23 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Obras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Joaquin Cabre with 22 points and Jeronimo Muller (183-2) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Despite that victory Obras went down to twelfth position due to points difference, which they share with Atenas and Penarol. Loser Union dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Obras will meet at home La Union (#15) in the next round. Union will play against Riachuelo LR (#10) and hope to secure a win.
