Regular Season Round 10: Heroes - Llaneros 72-73

Important game to mention about took place in Caracas. Sixth ranked Llaneros (3-5) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging bottom-ranked Heroes (0-7) 73-72 on Wednesday evening. Strangely Heroes outrebounded Llaneros 41-24 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dominican point guard Yerri Flores (188-96, college: High School) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Francisco Marquez (190-93) chipped in 16 points during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Kevin Nino (195-91) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four Heroes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Llaneros moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Heroes at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Llaneros' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Cocodrilos.
