Regular Season Round 10: Supersonicos - Cangrejeros 74-76

A very close game took place in Margarita (derby !!!) between Cangrejeros and Supersonicos. Fifth ranked Cangrejeros (3-5) got a very close victory on the road over one of their biggest challengers Supersonicos (3-5). Cangrejeros managed to escape with a 2-point win 76-74 in the fight for the third place. Cangrejeros forced 19 Supersonicos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international swingman Jorge Rondon (193-90) notched 19 points and 5 steals to lead the effort and Teobaldo Marcano (199-92) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by guard Yeferson Guerra (189-3) did not help to save the game for Supersonicos. The former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cangrejeros moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Supersonicos. Cangrejeros will meet league's leader Guaiqueries in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Supersonicos will have a break next round.
