Regular Season Round 6: Argentino - Platense 93-79

There was no surprise in Junin where 18th ranked Platense (1-7) was defeated by tenth ranked Argentino (4-3) 93-79 on Friday. Argentino made 32-of-41 free shots (78.0 percent) during the game, while Platense only scored twelve points from the stripe. They outrebounded Platense 43-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Point guard Agustin Cavallin (188-1) scored 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Franco Montemagio (185-2) chipped in 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Argentino's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Juan Frigerio with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and Juan Cox scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Argentino and five Platense players scored in double figures. Argentino moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Riachuelo LR. Platense lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Olimpico. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Platense will play against Ferro (#11) in Buenos Aires and hope to win that game.
