There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 16th ranked Regatas (3-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Ferro (6-2) 78-70 on Saturday. Ferro dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Regatas' 22. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Eduardo Vasirani (206-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Rodrigo Gallegos (186-91) who added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Juan Arengo (185-96) responded with 15 points and the former international point guard Marco Giordano (183-0) scored 16 points. Ferro have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Boca and Instituto. Regatas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Penarol. Ferro will meet at home bottom-ranked Platense (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Regatas will have a break next round.
