Bottom-ranked L.M.Mons. (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 63-26 loss to seventh ranked Gorlias (3-4) in on Saturday evening. They held L.M.Mons. to an opponent 18.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Gorlias forced 32 L.M.Mons. turnovers and outrebounded them 52-40 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gorlias made 7 blocks. At the losing side guard Margarita Vides (158-6) responded with 5 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Karen Guevara (163-88) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. Gorlias maintains seventh place with 3-4 record. L.M.Mons. lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Opico. Gorlias will meet higher ranked Teclenas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. L.M.Mons. will play against Salvadorenas (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
