Anzoategui held off Yaracuyanas in Game 1. Anzoategui outrebounded Yaracuyanas 47-35 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Waleska Perez (180-94, college: Weatherford JC) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Yurkia Gallardo contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Izmar Soto answered with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Josymar Diaz added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Yaracuyanas. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
