Not a big story in a game in Mar del Plata where 12th ranked Penarol (3-5) was defeated by eighth ranked Regatas (5-3) 83-72 on Sunday. Regatas outrebounded Penarol 52-33 including 38 on the defensive glass. DR Congolese center Christ Bonazebi (206-2) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. Fabio Gauto (190-2) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Lucas Gorosterrazu (197-98, agency: BIG) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Nicolas Franco (204-99) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Regatas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with San Lorenzo. Loser Penarol keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Obras. Regatas will meet at home bottom-ranked Olimpico (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Penarol will play against Union (#6) in Santa Fe and hope to secure a win.
