Regular Season Round 10: Olimpia - Urupan 72-90

Very expected game when 8th ranked Olimpia (3-4) lost to fourth ranked Urupan (5-2) in Montevideo 72-90 on Friday. Urupan looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and Sebastian Ottonello (195-97) supported him with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Urupan's coach Esteban Yaquinta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by Argentinian center Ivan Basualdo (203-90) did not help to save the game for Olimpia. The former international point guard Brian Garcia (182-90) added 20 points for lost side. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Urupan maintains fourth position with 5-2 record. Loser Olimpia dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Urupan will meet at home league's leader Goes in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Urunday.
