A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) between Malvin and Urunday. Fifth ranked Malvin (5-3) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Urunday (3-3). Malvin managed to escape with a 2-point win 85-83 in the fight for the fifth place. Malvin made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-99) notched 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and naturalized German center Kiril Wachsmann (203-84, college: Iona) supported him with 23 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Malvin's coach Federico Camina used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 23 points and 6 rebounds by American Justin Jackson (203-90, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Urunday. His fellow American import center Corbin Jackson (201-92, college: Florida Tech) added 8 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Malvin have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 5-3 record. Loser Urunday keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Nacional and Penarol.
