The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Salta Basket's (10-8) road victory over their biggest opponent Independiente (8-8) 97-80 on Friday. Salta Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) fired 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Agustin Carnovale (192-86) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Daniel Tabbia (195-93) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Bruno Ingratta (202-85) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Salta Basket and four Independiente players scored in double figures. Salta Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-8 record, which they share with GELP. Independiente lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Salta Basket will meet league's second-placed Villa S.Martin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Independiente will play against the league's leader CAO Ceres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
