Regular Season Round 8: Sivar - Opico 75-28

Bottom-ranked Opico is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to sixth ranked Sivar (6-2) 75-28. Sivar held Opico to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Sivar forced 19 Opico turnovers and outrebounded them 54-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Opico's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Rocio Palacios (175-85) who helped to win the game recording 8 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and point guard Wendy Guevara (165-1) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Sivar players scored in double figures. Sivar's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Sofia Morales (164-99) responded with 8 points and 10 rebounds and forward Katy Martinez (160-5) scored 8 points. Sivar moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sunset. Opico at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with L.M.Mons.. Sivar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Opico will play against Quequeisque (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
