Rather expected game in Rio de Janeiro where Chilean Universidad de Concepcion was defeated by Brazilian Flamengo 85-68 on Sunday. Flamengo outrebounded Universidad de Concepcion 44-32 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Universidad de Concepcion's players. The best player for the winners was forward Tulio Da Silva (203-96, college: Missouri St.) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Joao Paulo Batista (206-81, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. American-Argentinian forward Donovan Johnson (201-92, college: KWC) produced 14 points and Iranian-British center Aaron Geramipoor (213-92, college: Seton Hall) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
