Regular Season Round 8: La Union - Penarol 101-75

We should mention about the upset which took place in Formosa, where 12th ranked Penarol (3-6) was outleveled in a road game by fifteenth ranked La Union (3-4) 101-75 on Sunday. La Union forced 19 Penarol turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Jose Campoya who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Marcos Gonzalez (197-0) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. La Union's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Tomas Cattaneo responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Facundo Cabrera (185-1) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Union moved-up to thirteenth place. Penarol lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. La Union will meet at home bottom-ranked Olimpico (#20) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Penarol will play against San Martin (#6) in Corrientes and hope to secure a win.
