Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo. Ninth ranked Penarol (4-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked Defensor (1-7) 80-78 on Monday evening. Penarol made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Defensor was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American center Lee Roberts (203-87, college: Findlay, OH) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Diego Garcia (186-92) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: UIC) came up with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Gonzalo Alvarez (197-91) added 21 points respectively for Defensor in the defeat. Four Defensor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Penarol. They moved-up to sixth place. Defensor at the other side dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Capitol. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Bigua.
