An interesting game for Puerto Varas (9-1) which played road game in Valdivia against 4th ranked Deportivo Valdivia (4-6). First ranked Puerto Varas managed to get a 6-point victory 70-64. The former international center Juan Fontena (196-87) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Hector Gomez (188-87) supported him with 14 points. Four Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. Puerto Varas' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by the former international Gerardo Isla (201-91, college: Columbia, MO) did not help to save the game for Deportivo Valdivia.
