Regular Season Round 12: Ferro - H.Americano 87-85

Seventeenth-ranked H.Americano (3-6) was very close to win a game against second ranked Ferro (8-5) in Buenos Aires. Ferro managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Ferro made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. H.Americano was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Rodrigo Gallegos (186-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-99) who added 13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Deionte Simmons (205-96, college: Chicago St.) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Uruguayan forward Juan Ducasse (207-98, college: Santa Clara) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Ferro went down to third position due to points difference. H.Americano at the other side keeps the seventeenth place with six games lost. Ferro will play against Platense (#18) in Florida in the next round which should be an easy win for them. H.Americano will play on the road against Regatas in Corrientes and hopes to get back on the winning track.
