Regular Season Round 9: Marlins - Se7en 67-56

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Se7en (2-7) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Marlins (2-6) 67-56 on Saturday. Marlins forced 29 Se7en turnovers. Strangely Se7en outrebounded Marlins 59-45 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Valeria Cornejo (169-7) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Gracia Gonzalez (156-7) chipped in 18 points, 7 assists and 9 steals. Four Marlins players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Andrea Landaverde (161-4) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and guard Fabiola Romero (160-3) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marlins moved-up to tenth place. Se7en lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Marlins will meet L.M.Mons. (#12) in the next round. Se7en will play against Gorlias and hope to secure a win.
