Regular Season Round 10: Teclenas - Bulldogs 32-61

There was a minor upset in Santa Tecla where one of their biggest challengers Teclenas (6-2) were rolled over by sixth ranked Bulldogs (6-2) 61-32 on Thursday. Bulldogs held Teclenas to an opponent 15.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.2 percent accuracy of the winners and had 21 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Teclenas only scored four points from the stripe. Bulldogs forced 19 Teclenas turnovers and had a 47-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Teclenas' players. Swingman Andrea Batres (170-93) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Valeria Castro (170-1) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Bulldogs' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yashary Hernandez (170-99) produced 7 points and 15 rebounds and guard Alexandra Fuentes (160-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Bulldogs moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Teclenas. Bulldogs is looking forward to face bottom-ranked L.M.Mons. (#13) in Santa Ana in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Teclenas' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santa Tecla to the arena Salvadorenas.
