Regular Season Round 26: Jachal - CAO Ceres 61-124

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Jachal (0-6) was crushed at home by seventh ranked CAO Ceres (4-1) 124-61 on Friday. CAO Ceres dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Jachal's 28. They outrebounded Jachal 47-25 including a 40-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. CAO Ceres shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 41 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Jachal's players. Jorge Banegas (190-93, agency: BIG) scored 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Guido Cabrera (188-0) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Coach Enrique Lancelotti's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Marco Bosh responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Manuel Navarro (193-95) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five CAO Ceres and four Jachal players scored in double figures. CAO Ceres keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Jachal still closes the standings with six games lost. CAO Ceres will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jachal will play against the league's leader Independ.O. (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
