Regular Season Round 19: Flamengo - Pinheiros 81-64

Rather predictable result in Rio de Janeiro where second ranked Flamengo (13-2) beat 6th ranked Pinheiros (7-8) 81-64 on Sunday. It was a great evening for the former international forward Rafael Mineiro (208-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). American Brandon Robinson (196-89, college: Clayton St.) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Gui Abreu (199-99) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Lucas Caue (205-98) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Flamengo. Defending champion maintains second place with 13-2 record having four points less than leader Sesi Franca. Loser Pinheiros keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Caxias do Sul. Flamengo will meet at home Paschoalotto/Bauru (#5) in the next round. Pinheiros will play against Minas in Belo Horizonte and hope to secure a win.
