Everything went according to plan in La Rioja where tenth ranked Regatas (8-6) beat 12th ranked Riachuelo LR (6-8) 90-82 on Monday. Regatas made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American guard Skyler Hogan (196-97, college: SEMO) fired 20 points for the winners. The former international point guard Nicolas Aguirre (189-88) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Selem Safar (191-87) produced 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-89) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Regatas and four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Regatas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Instituto. Riachuelo LR lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Regatas will meet bottom-ranked Atenas (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Riachuelo LR will have a break next round.
