Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked UNIFACISA (7-7) defeated 14th ranked Cerrado (5-11) in Brasilia 88-74 on Tuesday. The winners were led by Venezuelan point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette, agency: Duran International) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Gerson Santo (206-91, college: Colorado St.) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by guard Paulo Da Costa (193-94) did not help to save the game for Cerrado. Guard Daniel Von Haydin (194-99) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UNIFACISA moved-up to seventh place. Cerrado lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 11 games lost.
