Regular Season Round 14: Instituto - Regatas 81-77

The most important game in the last round took place in Cordoba between third ranked Regatas (11-5) and seventh ranked Instituto (10-5) on Thursday night. Regatas was defeated by Instituto in a tough game on the road 77-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Regatas. Instituto forced 19 Regatas turnovers. Strangely Regatas outrebounded Instituto 50-34 including a 43-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Lautaro Urquiza (177-1) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Juan Frontera (178-2) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. Instituto's coach used entire bench in such tough game. DR Congolese center Christ Bonazebi (206-2) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Juan Scacchi (186-1) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Instituto moved-up to sixth place. Regatas at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Obera. Instituto are looking forward to face La Union (#13) in Formosa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Regatas will have a break next round.
