Rather expected game when 14th ranked Union SF (6-11) was smashed on the road by eleventh ranked Obera (8-8) 99-67 on Friday. Obera dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Union SF's 34. American forward Samuel Givens (197-89, college: Drexel) notched 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Jamaican power forward Clint Robinson (203-94, college: UIC) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Obera players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 9 rebounds by the former international power forward Gonzalo Torres (201-94) did not help to save the game for Union SF. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-0) added 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Obera maintains eleventh position with 8-8 record. Newly promoted Union SF keeps the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Obera will meet higher ranked San Lorenzo (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Union SF will play against Comunicaciones (#19) in Mercedes and hope to secure a win.
