An interesting game for Bocca (6-1) which hosted in Guayaquil 3rd ranked Punto R. (1-3). First ranked Bocca had an easy win 72-50. Bocca held Punto R. to an opponent 22.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.0 percent accuracy of the winners. The former international power forward Dayanna Salcedo (176-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Erika Calderon (178-91) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Nahomi Guzman (178-1) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Carla Torres (-2) added 12 points in the effort for Punto R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bocca maintains first position with 6-1 record. Punto R. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Bocca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Punto R. will play against Viejo W. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
