Regular Season Round 15: La Union - Instituto 105-113

Very expected game in Formosa where 13th ranked La Union (6-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Instituto (11-5) 113-105 on Sunday. Instituto dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to La Union's 38. Strangely La Union outrebounded Instituto 46-33 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Juan Tulian (196-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Gaspar Ruiz (180-1) helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Agustin Sigel (165-2) with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and DR Congolese forward David Efambe (201-1) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Instituto and four La Union players scored in double figures. Instituto moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Regatas. La Union lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Instituto will meet league's second-placed San Martin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Union will have a break next round.
