Regular Season Round 30: Racing - Estudiantes C. 91-72

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Racing (4-4) rolled over higher ranked Estudiantes C. (3-3) in Chivilcoy 91-72 on Monday. Racing dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Estudiantes C.'s 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Adriano Maretto (189-99, agency: BIG) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 assists to lead the effort and Joaquin Gamazo (198-91) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Even 16 points by point guard Matias Alluchon (185-0) did not help to save the game for Estudiantes C.. Forward Agustin Mas Delfino (194-97) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Racing moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Villa Mitre. Estudiantes C. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Del Progreso and Parque Sur. Racing will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Estudiantes C. will play against Del Progreso (#8) in General Roca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
