Regular Season Round 32: Lanus - Bahia 65-92

Rather predictable result in Buenos Aires where seventh ranked Bahia (4-5) smashed 9th ranked Lanus (3-5) 92-65 on Thursday. Bahia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lanus' 40. The best player for the winners was Brazilian center Gabriel Novaes (208-1) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Swingman Joaquin Sanchez (188-98) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Bahia players scored in double figures. Forward Franco Chiabotto (199-99) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian forward Cassidy Ryan (201-95, college: Brock) added 16 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Lanus' coach Leonardo Costa gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Bahia went down to eighth position due to points difference, which they share with Villa Mitre. Lanus lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Bahia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lanus will play against Parque Sur (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
